Meet Our Founder
Dr. Tarun Ghosh is a former faculty at Johns Hopkins & University of Maryland School of Medicine, and a retired scientist with 30 years of experience in drug discovery. His groundbreaking research in chronic inflammatory autoimmune diseases has been published in renowned academic journals including Nature and Science. Dr. Ghosh holds multiple patents; played a key role in Aldara and IRM Science; and his discoveries formed the scientific foundation for Fingolimod.
Meet Our Chief Periodontist
Dr. Thomas Hoover holds a Doctorate of Dental Surgery and Certificate of Periodontology from the University of Minnesota, and served in the United States Navy as a dental officer.Dr. Hoover is also a consultant at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Minneapolis Minnesota, where he teaches in the General Practice Residency Program. Dr. Hoover currently runs two periodontal clinics in Minnesota.

In 2011, Dr. Ghosh was battling a life-threatening illness which led to severe and excruciating periodontitis. His condition worsened over several years despite frequent dental visits and treatments. Eventually, he received the diagnosis that all his teeth were terminal and would require a full-mouth extraction.
It was at this point that Dr. Ghosh realized, in order to save his teeth - and potentially his life - he would need to create his own treatment. Late at night in his lab, he created the first protype of these products. Within days of applying his prototype his disease state began to reverse, his pain disappeared and his gums and alveolar bone began to strengthen. After some time and several iterations, his teeth became strong and secure - they no longer needed extraction at all.
It was clear to Dr. Ghosh that he now had a solution that could help other people suffering as he had, and ProEncia Biotechnology was born.
